A different judge, a different day! Yesterday we had a judge who went for size in every class meaning our Lowlines were at the bottom of the line and all the top places went to speckled park, Herefords, Longhorns and galloways.

Today was a little more succesful. The judge gave every animal out a thorough check over and we were delighted when Our homebred 2yr old bull Wessex Calgary, on his first outing from the farm won the bull class and then went onto win the championship. Our 3yr old bull Wessex beau got 4th in his class.

We also got a first with Wessex claudia , a 26month old heifer with a 4 month calf at foot.

Miss sparkle – 3yr old cow with calf at foot took a 3rd in the cow & calf class her calf 4th in the calf class.

Wessex delightful got 3rd and wessex dakota 4th in the yearling class and then went on to win 2nd in the pairs class with the judge saying it was a very close decision but 1st place in the end went to a lovely pair of belted galloways.
