About us
The Company is owned by Geoff Roper, who after hearing about the Lowline breed became excited about their prospects in the UK when he realised that they were derived from the “Original Aberdeen Angus” of the early 1900s and were the right size and temperament for the small acreage owner but also met the needs of the commercial beef market.
The herd is managed by David Maughan.
We have around 90 acres, we currently run approx 150 head and are proud to have the largest herd of Lowline cattle in Europe.
We have been involved in various farming activities but realise that Lowline cattle offer a special business interest in the rearing of a efficient and sustainable beef animal that appeals to the smallholder and commercial market alike, having a particularly docile temperament, eating about a third less than other breeds, a higher meat to bone ratio than other breeds and can finish for beef on grass.
